On Saturday, February 28, 2026 we hosted our 2nd Cabin Fever Series Event: From Sap to Syrup. We started off by viewing "The Maple Sugaring Story" which was a 28-minute educational film teaching the history of maple syrup. After the film, Shawn Colbath from Cider Hill Maple Farm spoke about his role as a maple sugar farmer and took questions from the crowd. Guests had many different stations they could visit during the event. Shawn and Linda Colbath had a display of maple sugaring tools and supplies, as well as a table of their products for sale. Raven’s Nest Face Painting had a booth to adorn children (and adults) with some beautiful and fun hand painted art. The EHS members manned the food area where we supplied guests with many delicious maple treats including: maple popcorn, maple glazed donuts, maple cookies, maple oat bars, and pancake ice cream sundaes with a full setup of a toppings. There was also an opportunity to taste different classes of syrup with a flight of syrup samples. All of this was free to the public. We’d like to thank everyone who joined us and anyone who decided to make a donation to EHS that afternoon.
